It is amazing how Africans seemingly love him, but African-Americans despise him.
He could use some dance lessons. Everyone, including Pres. Bush, appeared to be having a grand ol' time.

Larry, Africans don't have to live under his rein of error...African-Americans (and the rest of us) do.

"Reign of Error", I will have to use that one. Maybe if Bush respected American black leadership enough to meet with them, it would have a positive effect. Why do conservatives think the only people you should talk to are people you agree with?

There is another sterotypical response. "Why do conservatives think the only people you should talk to are people you agree with?" Bush has met with many of America's black leadership. He just did not kowtow to the NAACP and it's members. If you could try to get past your unreasonable hatred for Pres. Bush, you could possibly see that he has done some good (some bad) things while in office.
It is also laughable that people would state that we are living under the reign of any man. We are still free to choose who presides over us. Give us a term or two of Clinton or Obama and then we will see the true meaning of error. The SCOTUS will then be in ruins and govt. will be telling us how we have to raise our children, accept blatant sin, and kneel at the trough of handouts to try to exist.
No thanks.

Larry, like it or not America has some very bad Karma to overcome when it comes to African-Americans. I used to believe that black people were just a bunch of whiners...until I went to work at a place that was 65-70% black.

My eyes were opened to the fact that yes, racism is real. I could get you story after story of what I saw as the whites only management rules over some very helpless people. Separate bathrooms for blacks and whites? Yes, I saw it. No signs that said "white" and "colored", but you knew that the office staff (all white) used one set and the "people on the floor" (70% black) used the other one.

In a matter of 13 years I went from a conservative Republican to an independent liberal.

Today’s Republican Party is the home of the "polite racist". They don't hate anyone, but wonder what is wrong with "those people". They recoil in horror at the idea that they might be racist but never look around long enough on Sunday morning to wonder where all the black faces are in their segregated churches.

As for black people, well there are plenty of racist among them too. Maybe it’s because they wonder if they can trust the new generation of white people not to lynch them economically.

You claim that “We are still free to choose who presides over us.” I suggest you review the election of 2000.

As for the Supreme Court and the entire country being in ruins, the Court is packed with conservatives and the country will indeed be ruined….through years of Republican borrow and spend polices that driven the national debt up to the point that our grandchildren will probably pass laws to ban both the Republican and Democratic Parties.

Larry,
I definately do not hate President Bush. Is it acceptable to you that the number of people in poverty made a big increase under Bush? Is it acceptable that the gap between the rich and the poor also widened? We can all bash each other's candidate, but I like to deal in facts every now and then. I refer you to some information that I posted in the blog about Obama. If any of those things are true about Reagan, wouldnt that give me cause to have a problem with him?
Back to Bush. You do not know that the size of government grew under Bush? You do not know that some serious civil rights were lost under Bush? Why can't people just think Bush was a poor leader? Because I surely do not hate him.

Larry,

Being that 90 percent of the black community is trending Democrat, its not about Bush cowtowing to the NAACP. When he took office, he made a concerted effort not to meet with any blacks that were not conservative. You all get on to Benny Thompson for doing the opposite, right? That is fair. More black people would consider the Republican Party if you guys stood up for blantant racist things. Like the things that I listed in the Obama post, those things are unacceptable. But conservatives obviously are willing to overlook things like that because you never take the time to address them. We have different philosophies where it comes to government, that is fine. But I take it personally when ever something comes up concerning race, conservatives are usually on the wrong side. I do not want anything from you other than respect. And if one of your heros(Ronald Reagan) opposes MLK Day or says that the Voting Rights Act was humiliating to the South, I can not respect him. You all have to get over the notion that Blacks are Democrats because they want something from the government. Most blacks are Democrats because there is an aura around the Republican Party that is disrespectful to the black community. It is insulting when Republicans question whether they should participate in a debate sponsored by a black organization. I know regardless of what I try to tell you, you are going to think it is something else. We can differ on policies, but there are some things that cut to the core or person's spirit.

aedney, where is the obama post you refer to?

Since I am online, let me share that I do think President is an overall good leader. His problems come when he does not say no.
