Ouch

Very appropriate for the Pope on at least the last three items:
Tony Blair received a tough dressing down from Pope Benedict XVI during his audience with the pontiff yesterday, not only over the war in Iraq but also over legislation passed during Mr Blair's ten years in power on abortion, gay adoption and stem cell research.

Well, his Holiness is wise enough to be correct on the last three issues, than surely he is wise enough to be correct on the first. What do you think?

It's a good thing governments don't care a whit about what the pope wants.

Mr. Ratzinger's "Church" has proven itself to be a cancer on the body of humanity. From the crusades all the way way to it's infamous deal with Hitler.

I can't believe the man thinks he has any moral authority!!

Matt, according to this pope, you are going to hell. According to him, the Catholic church is the only way to salvation.

Yeah...he's someone whose opinions I care about. Gee whiz.

What I find even sadder than what the Pope had to say is that folks like Richard Land supported him. Now that is odd to me. Kinda reminds me of the people that want to say that Jesus was just a good guy, but not the Son of God.

Its also odd that this blog does not have any topics on the war. Thats probably one of the most important issues going on. Its surely more important than what the Pope "thinks".

You want to give guys like Matt the benefit of the doubt, but at some point, you begin to wonder if just like the other partisan hacks. Everytime I hear a conservative criticize a Democrat or liberal for something, I tell them that they will be in the same position in the near future. Every complaint conservatives had about Clinton is facing them right now, yet their reaction is 180 degrees from what it was then. It would take a blind man or extremely naive person not to see the corruption and power grabbing of the Bush Adm. The have completely ignored the Constitution in respect to checks and balances. Whether it be Cheney saying he is not really part of the Executive Branch, Alberto Gonzales giving false testimony to Congress, Libby perjuring himself, Bush coming to his aid after saying he would punish whomever was involved or a host of other things, conservatives are being hypocrites. The reason that the Bush Administration has continued to do these things is because they have the support of guys like Matt. Guys who say they are fair and balanced, but really are not. Cover up how Pat Tillman got killed or what we really knew prior to going into Iraq, so what, they have your back. Its a shame for me to turn on the radio everyday and hear people explain away all this stuff like is nothing. You have Border Control Agents who shot a criminal, but didnt file a report and the same crowd comes to their aid. The reason is because they do not hold themselves to the same standard of justice and truth that they hold others to. Conservatives never stopped talking about how disgraceful Clinton was and you look up and every one of their leading candidates has had an affair(execpt Romney), multiple marriages(except Romney) and one married his cousin. Do they blast these guys like they did Clinton? David Vitter frequents brothels and you dont hear him being condemned. You could fill up a sheet of paper with the misdeeds of Republicans during this administration, but you wont here about it here. They are all part of a team and its not in their interest to have one standard or treat everyone the same. The Bush Administration is going to end up just like some of these Hollywood starlets because the people that say they care allow them to get away with all sorts of nonsense. Lets debate these things, put up some topics on the controversial things.
