How long, after they get into office, will it take for them to break their campaign promises? That's a good question...'cause you know they all will. No matter who wins, the people of the state will lose...again.

I have never heard this comment in the media - Ask Phil or Charlie why the liberals want to give women the right to decide what is human? Men don't have this right...they don't even have the right to say their baby is human until it is born...and only after the mother decided it was human! If this really is "a man's world" ladies...then why can you decide on human life and men can't? We are even giving our female chidren this right without the parent's knowledge! Very Interesting...

Matt,

Since my wife is a teacher, I really want you to press the MS education system with this debate. Your methodology on merit pay is dead on. One problem in the state is the large number of independent school districts. The wide variety in programs and textbooks throughout the state also creates chaos. My wife's district uses a social studies textbook that is 20 years old! Standardization of a proven teaching curriculum with updated textbooks is a good place to start. By the way, what were the casinos supposed to do for the education system again? There is a valid question for the debate in here somewhere!

Also, how about asking them to enforce the traffic laws of MS. I have been involved with a few accidents in Jackson (not my fault) and, of course, the other driver did not have insurance. Why can't the Tax Collector require proof of insurance to register a vehicle? You have to take an eye test to get a license, why not insure the car you register to drive? Simple, huh?

Another traffic question: Why doesn't MS have a meaningful vehicle inspection? Current policy is stringent on window tint, yet my bumper can be tied to the trunk lid with zip ties. As long as I have $5 , I'm safe to drive!

Sorry I don't have a blog for you to reply to, keep up the fight!

I would really like to find out:

1) What *exact* plans do the candidates have. What policies do they support, and how do they propose to implement them?

2) What have they done in their existing offices that is an indicator of their ability to lead the Senate?

3) Was Phil involved in the Partnership? What is his current position on the diversion of state funds to a private group?

4) Did Charlie commit an ethics violation by changing the language in Senate Bill 2424 to give the contract to the hospital association?

5) The men seem to be running different types of campaigns - Phil is opening offices all over the state and seems to be spending money much more quickly than Ross. Ross seems to be focusing on providing information through the media, advertising, and local events. Could they share their views on how to run a campaign?

6) Does the fund raising factor into the ability of these two gentlemen to make it through not only the primary but also the general election?

7) What are the candidates' plans if they lose the primary?

I would ask them if they think that gambling is good for the State of MS. Charlie strongly supported bringing the coast gambling onshore. I would be interested to hear where Phil stands on this, and whether Charlie admits his support for gambling.

A good follow-up question would be to ask what they think God's Word says about gambling.

We might learn a lot about their character and religous bielfs.

"I would ask them if they think that gambling is good for the State of MS."

No doubt it has. People are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in State of Mississippi because of legalized gambling. It has been great for the economy of the Gulf Coast. Mayor A.J Holloway of Biloxi has stated the recovery after Katrina would be unfathonable without the casinos How can people complain about that?

"Charlie strongly supported bringing the coast gambling onshore"

So did Haley Barbour. They supported it because it makes sense. Allowing a casino to move a few 100 yards inland is hardly anything to throw a fit about. Does it really make any difference in the grand scheme of things?

"A good follow-up question would be to ask what they think God's Word says about gambling."

That's a stupid question. You can't institute "God's Word" into publicly policy simply because it's "God's Word".

"God's Word" says that "If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death."

Maybe you should ask them if they think the State should execute adulterers.

Some Christian voters may be interested in a particular Lt. Gov. candidate's stance on gambling. It sounds like two people have indicated that one would be in favor of gambling and another against. It does not invalidate the question, since it is a differentiating question for some. I am in favor of seeing what the candidate's stance is on this topic.

Phil and Charlie. Who can tell the biggest lie. Sounds boring.

Let's get a REALLY good debate: Christopher Hitchens verses Matt Friedeman on the topic of "Is there a God?"

Wonder how many rounds Matt could stay "in the fight"?

Do either of the candidates plan to keep the promises they make?
And before they lie and say yes…what guarantee do they offer?
How about let’s get an agreement that they will step down…
If I broke as many agreements as any ONE politician on the face of the earth, I would be fired!

Also, what plans do they have do deal with the12million illegal immigrants in our country?
I have heard the phrase “It’s impossible” so much I am sick of it…that’s not good enough…they are still ILLEGAL! Rome wasn’t built in a day…just because there’s not a perfect solution doesn’t mean we should do nothing at all. Given the time it would take, I doubt our economy would feel ANY effect!
I would be willing to bet it would be VERY possible if these illegal where coming over here and walking into jobs like: Congressmen, Representative, Governor and so on…In fact it would not even be an issue today!
