Will someone please explain to me why when we hear about "booming" economies like we supposedly have now and during the Reagen years, poverty seems to explode? I have heard Matt talk about the failures of the "Great Society" which I do not agree with. 20 plus percent of the population was in extreme poverty when the "Great Society" was proposed. But we can be critical of it on the whole, I think that is useful. I just want an examination of why it seems like Republican Presidencies coincide with an increase in poverty. If the stats show me to be wrong, I will concede that point. I dont think it is anything intentional, but if it is true, it should deserve some attention.
